We are looking for a Legal Counsel Specialist for an immediate start to reinforce our Legal & Compliance department. This is a permanent full-time or part-time position based in our office in Belgium or Luxembourg and reporting directly to the General Counsel & Group Compliance Manager.

As a Legal Counsel Specialist, you will support the daily operations of the group of Flen Health companies.

Your responsibilities:

  • Contract management: prepare, review, amend, renew contracts between Flen Health Group companies and external stakeholders (manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, healthcare professionals and organisations, insurance companies, and other partners) to protect the company’s interests
  • Flen Health’s IP portfolio management: patents and trademarks
  • Auditing (KYC) Flen Health’s business partners
  • Corporate housekeeping for the Group companies
  • Supporting compliance with GDPR and other privacy and data protection requirements: advise internal stakeholders on compliance, train personnel on privacy and internal compliance procedures, maintain the registry of Flen Health’s data processing operations, drive data protection impact assessments, prepare SCC, data breach notifications, …
  • Advising on compliance with Sunshine Laws and ensuring Healthcare transparency reporting is done correctly: transparency notification and reporting, advice to internal stakeholders on cooperation with healthcare professionals and organisations in various jurisdictions, …
  • Drafting compliance-related policies, procedures, and template documents
  • Legal advisory: provide expert legal advice to company departments on a range of legal issues


Your qualifications & experience: 

  • You hold a degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Law
  • You demonstrate at least 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar position, ideally in a medical device or pharmaceutical environment, or in private practice
  • You have a solid knowledge and understanding of the applicable EU legislative framework; knowledge and understanding of the European national legislative frameworks related to healthcare (e.g., in Belgium or Germany) is a plus
  • You have a substantial experience in contract management
  • You have excellent drafting skills, with particular attention to detail
  • You have excellent communication skills 
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • You are comfortable functioning in an international environment with colleagues from various backgrounds and regions
  • You are solution oriented and have good business acumen
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken; other languages as Dutch, French or German are an asset
